Central Asia and China enhance security cooperation

A meeting of the Ministers of Interior and Public Security in the “Central Asia – China” format took place in Beijing.

The meeting was attended by the Ministers of Interior of the Central Asian countries, the leadership of China’s Ministry of Public Security, and a delegation from Uzbekistan led by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan, Lieutenant General Aziz Tashpulatov.

Today, as security threats become more transnational, it is essential for states to exchange information quickly and coordinate actions to effectively address terrorism, extremism, organized crime, drug trafficking, human trafficking, and cybercrime.

The discussion in Beijing focused on sharing experiences on these issues, enhancing practical cooperation, and effectively leveraging modern technologies.

During the event, the delegations participated in the opening ceremony of a training center dedicated to law enforcement officers from Central Asian countries and China.

Following the event, participants highlighted that China’s approach to maintaining public security and integrating digital technologies into law enforcement is highly relevant for Central Asian nations. Sharing these experiences can improve efforts to fight emerging crime types.
