Academician Akmal Saidov at the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum
The 14th International Legal Forum took place in Saint Petersburg.
Academician Akmal Saidov, Director of the National Human Rights Center, represented Uzbekistan at the forum.

Academician Akmal Saidov participated in the international roundtable “Legal Scholarship in the Architecture of Interparliamentary Dialogue: New Approaches to Drafting Model Acts”, organized by the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member States.
Mr. Saidov held bilateral meetings with leaders of legal agencies and parliamentary institutions from various countries to discuss key issues, including legal integration, human rights protection, and legislative development.
The event gathered leaders of national legislative bodies, legal experts, parliamentarians, and judges from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
During three thematic sessions, participants discussed the doctrinal foundations for drafting model acts, the role of academic expertise in the legislative process, and the prospects for the digital transformation of lawmaking, including the use of artificial intelligence. The need to strengthen academic support for model lawmaking, establish mechanisms to monitor the regular incorporation of model acts into national legislation, and develop interparliamentary expert cooperation was emphasized.
The developed recommendations will be presented to the appropriate commissions of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly.
