A new stage of cooperation between Uzbekistan and China
Negotiations were held between Abdulla Azizov, Director of the Agency for the Development of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry, and the leadership of Guangzhou Pharma, one of China’s largest pharmaceutical companies.
The parties discussed issues related to expanding investment, scientific and industrial cooperation, and the development of the pharmaceutical industry.
Guangzhou Pharma representatives were provided with detailed information on measures to support the pharmaceutical industry being implemented in Uzbekistan, particularly on the capabilities of the BioPharma City pharmaceutical cluster and its modern infrastructure.
The parties have identified several priority areas for mutually beneficial cooperation, particularly the establishment of joint ventures in Uzbekistan. Special attention was given to developing scientific potential. An agreement was reached to implement joint research projects in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and cosmetics production, as well as to exchange experience in education and training.
The development of the raw material base for medicinal plants, including their cultivation, processing, and industrial use, became one of the key areas of negotiation. The prospects for introducing advanced technologies in traditional and public medicine and for expanding cooperation in developing medicines were also discussed.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed on the practical implementation of the planned projects and the continued development of bilateral cooperation.
