Uzbekistan’s athletes ranked first at the Asian Boxing Championships
Jakarta hosted the Asian U19 and U23 Boxing Championships.
The Uzbekistan national team ranked first in both age categories.
Uzbekistan’s boxers in the U19 age category each secured 7 gold medals, along with one silver and one bronze.
Utkirbek Norqosimov, Elyor Rustamov, Muhammadrizo Ukimov, Sukhrob Rakhmatullayev, Abror Sharipov, Sardor Bahromkhudjayev and Asadbek Sultanboyev became gold medalists. Islom Salikhov won the silver medal, and Saidkhoja Sadillakhodjayev – the bronze medal.
The Kazakhstan national team took second, and the South Korean national team – third place in this age category.
In the U23 age category, Uzbekistan’s athletes earned four gold, two silver and three bronze medals.
Young boxers from Uzbekistan, who competed in all 10 weight categories in both age groups, won 18 out of 20 medals.
