Uzbekistan and Tuscany strengthen partnership in training and hiring healthcare workers
As part of the implementation of agreements reached following the July 14 meeting between the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the Governor of the Tuscany region Eugenio Giani, a delegation from the Migration Agency has held a series of talks in Italy in recent days.
Director of the Migration Agency Behzod Musayev met with the Governor of Tuscany Eugenio Giani. The parties discussed practical steps to implement the agreements reached earlier, including the employment of Uzbekistan doctors and nurses in the region’s healthcare institutions.
“History shows that nations achieve progress when they cooperate with and learn from one another”, Eugenio Giani noted.
In addition, the Uzbekistan delegation met with Riccardo Zucchi, Rector of the University of Pisa. Following the meeting, an agreement was signed to develop a joint educational program providing for training specialists planning to work in Italy in accordance with Italian medical standards, as well as Italian language instruction.
During the visit, representatives of the Uzbek side also reviewed the construction of the new University of Pisa hospital, where medical specialists from Uzbekistan are expected to be employed in the future. The parties discussed opportunities for organizing practical training and further cooperation at the hospital.
