Uzbekistan and China strengthen cooperation in healthcare
The Minister of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Asilbek Khudayarov, met with a delegation led by Leung Chun-ying, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Chairman of the GX Foundation.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Uzbekistan, Yu Jun, also attended the meeting.
During the dialogue, it was emphasized that the strategic partnership and friendly relations with the People’s Republic of China continue to strengthen. In particular, several healthcare projects are being implemented.
Within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, complex surgical operations are conducted in Uzbekistan with the involvement of Chinese specialists. Over the past five years, more than 3,000 patients suffering from eye diseases have been operated.

Last year, similar events were jointly organized with the GX Foundation in Fergana and Khorezm regions. The possibility of holding similar events in Samarkand and Bukhara regions was discussed.
During the meeting, the foundation’s representatives donated advanced mobile ophthalmic equipment, which will allow for complex operations in remote regions of Uzbekistan.
The parties agreed to continue cooperation in medical education, early diagnosis, and treatment of eye diseases.
An agreement has been reached to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan and the GX Foundation.
The guests also became familiar with the activities of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Eye Microsurgery and Tashkent State Medical University.
