Tourist trails help preserve nature
The organization of tourist trails in the country’s eco-zones has been defined as a separate area of state policy in tourism. The procedure for their creation and use has been approved.
A tourist trail is an environmentally safe path in eco-zones, with a designated direction, intended for tourist movement. Such routes are adapted for hiking, horseback riding, cycling, and skiing. The use of motor vehicles is prohibited.
The purpose of creating such routes is to regulate tourist movement, minimize negative impact on flora and fauna, and ensure the protection of natural areas.
The Tourism Committee organizes tourist trails in eco-zones in coordination with the relevant responsible organizations. The route, its length, and waypoints are developed by the organization that manages the territory on whose balance sheet the area is located. In doing so, consideration is given to the area’s natural characteristics, environmental conditions, tourist safety, and the capacity of existing infrastructure.
Tourist trails are equipped with rest areas, information boards, directional signs, and safety markers. Once brought to operational readiness, the site is entered into the Tourism Committee’s special register, confirming its official establishment.
Maintenance and ongoing monitoring of the technical condition are the responsibility of the organization managing the territory. During operation, it is required to avoid harming the natural environment, not deviate from the route, and dispose of waste only in designated areas.
In the event of a threat to environmental conditions or safety, the use of tourist trails may be temporarily suspended.
This system aims to protect natural areas and develop ecotourism.
