The Union of Journalists of Uzbekistan signs memorandums with major Turkish media organizations
During the international media forum “From cultural direction to the digital future: culture, media and artificial intelligence” in Balıkesir, Türkiye, members of the Union of Journalists of Uzbekistan held fruitful meetings and negotiations with Turkish media organizations.
The meetings focused on the current state of journalism in both countries, exploring new opportunities and challenges created by the rapidly evolving media landscape. The parties also emphasized expanding professional connections among journalists, exchanging experiences, and pursuing joint projects.
A significant result of the discussions was the signing of cooperation memorandums with Turkish media outlets.

Shukhrat Oripov, Chairman of the Board of the Union of Journalists of Uzbekistan, Yılmaz Karaca, Chair of the Federation of Journalists of Türkiye, and Süleyman Basa, TİMBİR President, signed the documents.
Collaboration with the Federation of Journalists of Türkiye includes organizing mutual visits by journalists from both countries, sharing insights on local press development, conducting joint seminars on digital journalism, artificial intelligence, and media literacy, hosting international forums, and improving journalists’ professional skills. Strengthening professional connections between Uzbek and Turkish journalists is also recognized as a key priority.

The memorandum with the Turkish Internet Media Association aims to enhance collaboration in digitalization efforts.
In cooperation with TİMBİR, the Union of Journalists of Uzbekistan aims to carry out joint digital journalism projects. They will focus on enhancing media professionals’ skills through educational programs, seminars, and training sessions, while also sharing expertise on maintaining information accuracy and upholding journalistic ethics in the digital space.
