The President reviewed the operations of a porcelain stoneware production facility in Quvasoy
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the joint venture Crown Ceramic in the city of Quvasoy and became acquainted with the production process for porcelain stoneware tiles.
In Uzbekistan, special attention is paid to expanding the production of import-substituting and export-oriented products based on local raw materials. Currently, 47 ceramic tile manufacturing enterprises operate in the country. Last year, they produced 47.2 million square meters of product, which covered domestic demand by 128.6 percent.

In accordance with the Head of State’s Resolution dated December 16, 2024, aimed at the socio-economic development of Fergana region, the joint venture Crown Ceramic was established in 2025 in the city of Quvasoy. The project, with a capacity of 8 million square meters of porcelain stoneware tiles per year, can produce goods worth 1 trillion UZS, generate added value of 665 billion UZS, and export products valued at $35 million.

The use of local raw materials at the enterprise is 97 percent. The main share is supplied from deposits in Quvasoy and from Angren in Tashkent region. The production process uses 600 tons of sorted stone, 100 tons of red kaolin, and 100 tons of gray kaolin daily.
Large-format porcelain stoneware is produced here and is rarely found in the markets of Central Asia and Eastern Europe. The plant manufactures products in six sizes.

At the enterprise, ordinary river stone is transformed into high-value-added products. The production of feldspar has been established, as has the purification of carbon-containing impurities in kaolin. These developments play an important role in the manufacture of high-quality porcelain stoneware.
The production processes are fully digitalized, and energy-efficient equipment is used. Particular attention is also paid to environmental requirements, with modern dust collection and filtration systems installed. Rainwater is collected and used in production. A closed-loop system for treating and reusing wastewater has been established.

Thanks to modern technologies, electricity consumption in raw material preparation has been reduced by 20 percent. During the daytime, production is carried out using natural light.

In terms of quality and technical characteristics, the ceramic tiles produced here can compete with products from Italy, Spain, and China. In January-March of the current year, the enterprise supplied 80,000 square meters of products valued at $400,000 to Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. To expand the export geography, it is planned to conclude contracts with Kazakhstan, Russia, and European countries.

Today, the enterprise is conducting scientific and practical work to localize imported glaze materials. A new $20 million project, which will enable the production of 50,000 tons of glaze per year, is scheduled to be commissioned in September 2026. As a result, it is expected to create an additional 100 jobs, increase exports by $10 million, and meet 85 percent of the enterprise’s glaze demand through its own production.
The Head of State reviewed the production and storage processes, the technologies introduced, and export plans. It was emphasized that such joint ventures play an important role in developing the regional economy by enabling the deep processing of local raw materials and the creation of high-value-added products.
