The “Great Silk Road” project presented in New Tashkent
The “Great Silk Road” project, scheduled for implementation in New Tashkent, was presented to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
As is known, in the first phase of New Tashkent’s development, work is underway on a 6,000-hectare area. Once this phase is finished, modern infrastructure will be available for 600,000 residents. With the full implementation of the project, New Tashkent will become a modern metropolis for a population of 2 million.

The Great Silk Road complex, spanning 32 hectares, is set to become one of the most significant public and cultural centers in New Tashkent. It will feature residential and commercial spaces, hotels, cultural and educational institutions, along with other modern infrastructure facilities.
According to the concept, the complex will feature thematic neighborhoods dedicated to different civilizations of the Great Silk Road. Each mahalla will represent a specific country located along the Great Silk Road.
During the presentation, special focus was given to the “Uzbekistan” neighborhood. It was emphasized that the history, culture, and values of our people should be reflected in every building, street, and square.

Plans for renovating several museums were also considered, aimed at further promoting the country’s rich historical heritage. This includes showcasing the great achievements of our ancestors in science, culture, and architecture, as well as boosting the country’s international tourism potential.
In particular, plans include establishing a museum within the reconstructed complex of Imam Maturidi, featuring thematic halls such as “Attention to the Legacy of Imam Maturidi in New Uzbekistan”, “The Life of Imam Maturidi”, as well as sections dedicated to Maturidism. Additionally, proposals have been made to enrich the content of Bahauddin Naqshband’s scientific and innovative museum, especially by broadly presenting the lives and legacies of great scholars in the “Yetti Pir” hall.

Furthermore, a plan to renovate the State Museum of the Temurids History was presented, incorporating modern museological and design solutions. It includes redesigning the exhibition halls and providing visitors with a high-quality visual and educational experience. Each hall will be dedicated to a specific historical period and theme.
The overall goal of the presented projects is to provide a thorough, science-based overview of the country’s history, develop modern cultural infrastructure, and create appealing tourist attractions for visitors.
The Head of State approved the projects and provided relevant instructions for their execution.
