Tashkent hosts International Anti-Doping Seminar
In Tashkent, the Ministry of Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in cooperation with the country’s Weightlifting Federation, the National Anti-Doping Agency, and the International Testing Agency (ITA), hosted an International Anti-Doping Seminar.
The event was attended by International Testing Agency experts, specialists from the National Anti-Doping Agency of Uzbekistan, and International Weightlifting Federation President Mohammed Jalood.
Experts provided information on the latest developments in anti-doping and on the international requirements and procedures applied in practice.
Particular attention was paid to compliance with anti-doping rules and their key requirements, the transparent and proper organization of the doping control process, athletes’ rights and responsibilities, and the list of prohibited substances and methods. In addition, the procedure for obtaining a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE), which permits the use of a prohibited substance or method for medical reasons, was explained.
The seminar participants received answers to their questions and recommendations on compliance with anti-doping requirements.
