Samarkand hosted a theatrical festival “The Image of Amir Temur on Stage”
To mark the 690th anniversary of the birth of Sahibkiran Amir Temur, a national theatrical festival titled “The Image of Amir Temur on Stage” was held in Samarkand. As part of the festival, the exhibition “Costumes of the Era of Amir Temur and the Timurids” was organized.
A total of 25 theaters from across the country took part in the festival, 7 of which presented their performances.

The festival opened with the performance “Oqsaroy” by the Kashkadarya Regional Musical and Drama Theatre. Following the performance, a ceremonial procession titled “Costumes of the Era of Amir Temur and the Timurids” was held. The procession began on the grounds of the Bibi-Khanym Madrasa, passed through Registan Square, and continued to the Samarkand Musical and Drama Theatre building.

As part of the festival program, the performance “Life Without Regret” by the Kokand City Musical and Drama Theatre was successfully staged at the Samarkand Regional Musical and Drama Theatre, and the performance “Sahibkiran” by the Kattakurgan City Drama Theatre was presented at the Samarkand Regional Musical and Drama Theatre.

During the three-day festival, a special competition was also held in the “Costumes of the Era of Amir Temur and the Timurids” category.
Following the festival, winners were determined among the participants in various categories, as well as among the participants in the costume exhibition, and were awarded prizes.
