National laws are being aligned with WTO agreements
During a session of the lower house of parliament, a draft law “On introducing amendments to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan ‘On licensing, permitting and notification procedures’, aimed at aligning export procedures with the rules of the World Trade Organization”, was discussed.
It provides for the abolition of the procedure for issuing permits for the export of goods and products based on decisions by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the government, as well as the removal of export restrictions from the list of penalties applied to legal entities for violations in licensing and permitting procedures.
The proposed provisions will help increase product exports, remove existing restrictions, promote competition, foster an open market environment, and align national laws with WTO rules.
Deputies approved the draft law during the second reading.
