Azerbaijan Tourism Board showcases the country’s tourism potential in Tashkent

The Azerbaijan Tourism Board presented the country’s tourism potential in Tashkent to strengthen collaboration between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan’s tourism industries.

The event brought together tourism industry representatives from both countries, including travel agencies and tour operators, airlines, hotels, tourism companies, and media representatives.

The event focused on strengthening business ties between tourism representatives from both countries, exchanging experience, and promoting Azerbaijan as an attractive year-round destination for travelers from Uzbekistan.

During the presentation, participants learned about Azerbaijan’s tourism offerings, such as cultural, educational, and gastronomic routes, beach and wellness tourism, active and family vacations, ski resorts, and business travel opportunities.

Particular attention was drawn to the diversity of the country’s tourism destinations – from the cultural and historical attractions of Baku to the natural routes of the Caucasus, the health resorts of Naftalan, and the Shahdag Ski Resort.

Following the presentation, representatives from Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan’s tourism sectors held B2B meetings. They discussed existing tourism products, opportunities for direct collaboration, and the potential to develop joint projects.

Interest among Uzbekistan citizens in Azerbaijan as a travel destination continues to grow steadily. According to Azerbaijani figures, 42,388 travelers from Uzbekistan visited Azerbaijan from January to July 2026. This was 40.2 percent higher than in the same period of 2025, when 30,233 arrivals were recorded.

In July, 7,519 travelers from Uzbekistan visited Azerbaijan, an 8.4 percent rise from the same month last year.

Direct air links between the two countries are strengthening tourism ties. Azerbaijan Airlines operates seven flights a week between Baku and Tashkent and two between Baku and Samarkand. Uzbekistan Airways operates four flights a week between Baku and Tashkent, while Centrum Air operates three. In addition, Fly Khiva operates charter flights between Tashkent and Ganja.

Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan are progressively strengthening their cooperation in tourism. The Azerbaijan Tourism Board hosts B2B events and familiarization trips for tourism industry professionals and media in the Uzbek market, takes part in specialized exhibitions, and collaborates on joint marketing initiatives with local partners.
