Zhang Haizhou: “Uzbekistan's experience is worthy of popularization”
09:00 / 2023-05-25

After the six Heads of State meetings at the China – Central Asia Summit, Beijing and Xi'an have turned into another platform – a forum of journalists from SCO member states, observers, and partner states.

Media representatives from 21 countries were received at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China. Zhang Haizhou, China’s SCO National Coordinator, noted that the political association formed in 2001 now employs executive mechanisms in 84 areas.

“With the expansion of the SCO ranks, the European Union and other political structures are striving to establish a dialogue with the SCO on geopolitical issues to establish mutually interested ties”, Zhang Haizhou says.

The annual trade turnover between China and the SCO countries alone reached $411.8 billion.

China’s SCO National Coordinator also drew attention to the role of Uzbekistan in this organization.

“Several proposals of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev are included in the SCO programs and are already being implemented”, says Zhang Haizhou. – Uzbekistan's economic and political reforms have contributed to the country’s transition to a number of rapidly developing states. Positive changes have taken place in the life of the people. Especially the experience of Uzbekistan has become a method for reducing poverty and deserves to be popularized as a school created by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

China’s SCO National Coordinator Zhang Haizhou touched upon the issue of presidential elections and noted that in the person of the incumbent head of state, he sees the successor of the reforms aimed at ensuring the future of the country and the Uzbek people will show wisdom and choose a worthy candidate.

A presentation of the project on building peace together was held for journalists who arrived from European and Asian countries.

The forum continues.
