The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan has adopted a resolution “On further improvement of the activities of the Research Institute of Vegetable, Melon Crops and Potato”.

The Zaamin Scientific Experimental Station of the Research Institute of Vegetable, Melon Crops and Potato will be created in the system of the National Center for Knowledge and Innovation in Agriculture of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Jizzakh Regional Hokimiyat.

Its main tasks are:

creation of high-yielding varieties and hybrids of vegetable crops and potatoes, corresponding to local soil and climatic conditions, resistant to diseases and pests, with high-quality indicators;

development of research work on the organization of primary seed production of vegetable crops and potatoes;

development and implementation of modern resource-saving technologies for growing vegetable melons and potatoes;

development of scientifically based recommendations for growing vegetable and potato crops and increasing their yield using leading foreign technologies;

training researchers in vegetable crops and potatoes, retraining, and advanced training of industry workers.

The activities of The Scientific Experimental Station, a state institution with the status of a legal entity, will be coordinated by the Research Institute of Vegetable, Melon Crops and Potato.
