A youth festival under a slogan “We are the children of a great country!” has taken place in the Buvaida District of Ferghana Region.

Deputies of the Legislative Chamber of Uzbekistan’s Oliy Majlis, schoolchildren and students, young athletes properly upholding the honor of the nation in the international arena, took part in the occasion organized by the regional hokimiyat (administration) and the regional council of the Kamolot Youth Social Movement.

It was said that extensive opportunities are being created under the leadership of President Islam Karimov for upbringing and educating a young generation in an environment inferior to no one in anything, for them to attain profession and occupy a worthwhile place in life. The 6 February 2014 presidential resolution on additional measures dedicated to the conduct of youth policy in Uzbekistan serves for the elevation of effectiveness of these endeavors.

Currently, schoolchildren and students are acquiring modern knowledge in the region’s 919 general education schools, 157 academic lyceums and professional colleges as well as five higher education institutions. 20 Barkamol Avlod children’s centers, 54 children’s and youths’ sports schools, 27 children’s music and arts schools are also available for the young people.

As part of the execution of the State Program “Year of Healthy Child”, three children’s music and arts schools and seven sports facilities have been built. More than twenty general education schools have undergone reconstruction. “Yoshlar” complex has been erected in Ferghana, and “Kamolot Uylari” houses have been built in Ferghana and Kuvasai in order to support young families.

Majority of the more than 60 thousand young men and women who graduated this year from professional colleges have been employed in accordance with their major specialization.

Letters of commendation and memorable gifts of the regional hokimiyat were handed at the event to a group of active young people. The youth of Buvaida District were presented with the gift of the country’s President – an Isuzu bus.

A concert show with the participation of celebrated and young musicians afforded a festive mood to the participants of the festival.
