On May 2-6, Tashkent will host children's and youth festival "Sharqatirguli" ("Rose of the East").

On May 2-6, Tashkent will host children's and youth festival "Sharq atirguli" ("Rose of the East").

A press conference was held on the eve of the festival, which will take place for the first time on an international scale by the children's home of creativity Sharq Atirguli at the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan jointly with a number of organizations.

The international festival pursues such goals as further enhancement of spiritual, moral, aesthetic and cultural levels of youth through systematic attraction to theaters and museums, concert and entertainment events. Young people at the age from 4 to 18 and from 18 to 28 will take part in the contest, organized in the vocal and dance directions. Amateurs making the first steps in the world of art will also take part in the competition along with laureates of international festivals, professional performers. Representatives from Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, India, Russia are expected to attend the event.

Mastery of participants will be evaluated by a jury consisting of artists from different countries. Among the jury members are such popular artists of Uzbekistan as people's artist of Uzbekistan Rushana Sultanova, honored artists of Uzbekistan Kumush Razzakova, Kozim Kayumov, Omina Babadjanova.

Within the framework of the international festival participants will travel to the historical cities of Uzbekistan.
