A mass running marathon was held in Andijan under the slogan “I am the winner”.

At the opening ceremony of the marathon, held in the Eco Park of Andijan city, Deputy Hokim of Andijan region Komiljon Komilov delivered a speech, emphasizing that large-scale efforts are being carried out in the country to ensure meaningful leisure time for young people, engage them in sports, and promote a healthy lifestyle, and wished the participants success.

To enhance the effectiveness of sports and health-promoting activities, a marathon was held among men and women, bringing together students of general education and sports schools, university students, military personnel, and law enforcement officers, who demonstrated their physical fitness and interest in sports.

According to the final results of the marathon, first place among men was won by Vohid Iskandarov, a serviceman from a military unit in Andijan. Second place went to Dilshod Gofurjonov, a student of Andijan State Pedagogical Institute, and Muhammadsodiq Muhammadjonov, a student of the Andijan Olympic and Paralympic Sports Training Center, secured third place.

Among the girls, first place went to Dilshoda Usmonova, a student at Andijan State Pedagogical Institute. Second place went to Nasima Mamirova, a student at the sports school in Qurgontepa district, and third place went to Nazmina Rahimjonova, a student at the sports school in Jalaquduq district.

“Regardless of age, a person who engages in sports will always remain healthy and strong”, said one of the marathon winners, Dilshoda Usmonova, a recipient of the Zulfiya State Award. “In this regard, this marathon, which brought together thousands of young people, not only helped us stay physically fit but also inspired us, giving young people strength, energy, and determination”.

Following the event, the winners and prize recipients, as well as the winners in various nominations, were awarded diplomas and cash prizes by the organizers.
