In Namangan, the republican phase of the “Young rescuer” competition has taken place among students of secondary special education and vocational training establishments.

In Namangan, the republican phase of the “Young rescuer” competition has taken place among students of secondary special education and vocational training establishments.

The competition was arranged by the Emergency Situations Ministry jointly with the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the central council of the Kamolot public youth movement.

14 teams from the Republic of Qoraqalpoghiston, the regions and the city of Tashkent participated in the competition.

It was said that under the leadership of the President of the country special attention was paid to bringing up a harmoniously developed generation and to raising their intellectual potential.

This competition helps the military-patriotic bringing up of the younger generation and enriches their knowledge about civil defence so that young people become able to correctly deal with emergency situations.

“This traditional competition is of important significance to solving problems of emergency situations,” says R.Jorayev, minister of emergency situations.

Young rescuers’ knowledge and abilities were tested in five exercises as they displayed dexterity, bravery, resolve and vigilance.

The “Qalqon [shield]” team of Namangan Region won. The “Bunyodkor [builder]” team of Samarqand Region took second place, and the “Vatanparvar [patriot]” team of Navoiy Region took third place.

The hokim (governor) of Namangan Region, H.Bozorov, made a speech at the event.
