The republican stage of the Yosh Qutqaruvchi (Young rescuer) competition among students of secondary special education and vocational training establishments has taken place in Bukhoro.

During the event held by the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the Kamolot youth public movement and the Centre for secondary special education and vocational training, it was said that under the leadership of the country’s President special attention was being paid to bringing up the younger generation to develop well in every respect and to further raising their physical and intellectual potential.

Teams that had won in the Qoraqalpoghiston, regional and Tashkent city stages participated in the completion conducted in accordance with a resolution dated 19 July 2011 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On approving a comprehensive programme for preparing the population for action in (natural and technogenic) emergency situations arising as a consequence of earthquakes” with the aim of bringing up young people in the spirit of patriotic gallantry and raising their knowledge of civil defence as well as forming experience of correct action and the provision of aid in emergency situations.

The “Shijoat” team of Bukhoro Region took first place, and the “Kimyogar” team of Tashkent Region and the “Fidokor” team of Tashkent city were in second place and third place respectively.

“In future, I want to work as a rescuer of the service on emergency situations,” says the captain of the “Shijoat” team, Mirjon Omonov.
