A round-table conversation has been held by the Science, Education, Culture and Sports Committee of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis (parliament) of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the topic of “Law making in the years of independence and the priority of the nation’s interests”.The conversation was attended by deputies of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis, officials of the Culture and Sports Ministry, young people and representatives of mass media.
At the event, it was emphasized that large-scale work was being carried out to build a law-governed democratic state and a free civil society in the country. Its tangible expression can be seen in the realization of dreams of the country’s citizens and families, in people’s world outlook rising and in their attitude to life and labour changing for the better.
The presidential decree dated 6 February 2014 “On additional measures directed towards implementing the state youth policy of the Republic of Uzbekistan” is good for raising young people’s legal awareness and activeness, realizing their creative and intellectual potential and ensuring their employment.
It is also important to strengthen young people’s immunity against ideological threats.
In the system of the Ministry of Culture and Sports too, a great deal of attention is being paid to educating young personnel. In 2015, a club of young people was established at the ministry.
“Today young people’s spirits are higher than ever,” says a deputy of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis, Odina Jamoliddinova.
During the round-table conversation, young people were given information about the parliament’s work, law making and achievements that had been made over the past 25 years in such spheres as science, education, culture and sports.
