The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with undergraduates and doctoral students of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies.
At the meeting, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Uzbekistan Kang Jae Kwon noted that 3 undergraduates and 7 doctoral students were selected based on a competition announced by the Korea Foundation to support young Korean researchers and congratulated them. Korean Foundation fellows were awarded certificates.
The total amount of scholarships is $32 thousand. They are aimed at stimulating the research of selected candidates and achieving scientific results in Korean studies.
The research works of young researchers cover such areas as Korean language and literature (doctoral studies) and Korean language and literature, politics and economics of the Republic of Korea (master's degree).
In 2015, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between TSUOS and Korean Foundation. The Foundation has been effectively cooperating in sending volunteer teachers, providing literature in the sphere, and awarding scholarships to researchers.
