Young Directors Festival “Debut 2022” kicks off in Uzbekistan

The 7th National Festival of Young Directors “Debut 2022” has kicked off at the Uzbek State Musical Theater named after Mukimi.

This creative project, organized jointly by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Theater Workers Union of Uzbekistan, is dedicated to the 31st anniversary of the independence of the country.

Deputy Minister of Culture Murodjon Majidov, Chairman of the Theater Workers Union of Uzbekistan Yoqub Akhmedov, and well-known director Olimjon Salimov noted that the development of national theatrical art is at the center of constant attention of the Head of the state.

“The festival is of particular importance in a detailed study of youth creativity, exchange of opinions and experience”, Deputy Director of Syrdarya Regional Music and Drama Theater Kandiyor Rustamov said. – At the “Debut 2022”, we will present the dramatic story “Mother”, which is based on the work of the famous playwright Shukhrat Rizayev, and directed by the young director Nazar Nurullayev.

The program of the festival includes a conference, roundtable discussions dedicated to the prospects for the development of theatrical art, master classes with the participation of artists and playwrights, demonstrations of new performances and their discussion.

The play “Usmon Nosir” by the Uzbek State Musical Theater named after Mukimi was shown on the first day of the festival.
