Türkiye’s Yeni Gün newspaper has published an article by Hikmet Eren, head of Eko Avrasya, on a new stage in Türkiye – Uzbekistan relations. It notes that Uzbekistan, the heart of Central Asia, fully embodies this civilizational code.
Samarkand, with its turquoise domes, Bukhara – the cradle of Islamic science, and Khiva – the open-air museum, are the common roots of the Turkic world, its linguistic, intellectual, and spiritual unity.
“For centuries, the land of Uzbekistan has been the bearer of the torch of civilization”, the expert writes. “The legacy of Al-Khwarizmi, Ibn Sina, Imam Bukhari, and Mirzo Ulugbek today serves as the foundation of the Third Renaissance being formed under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. This is not just a historical continuity, but a conscious choice of the path of modern development”.
In his opinion, modern Uzbekistan, with a population of over 37 million people and an advantageous strategic position, effectively uses its rich heritage as a resource for sustainable growth. The reforms initiated by the President, based on the principle “the state must serve the people”, have opened a new, open, and dynamic era in the country’s history.
The author writes that Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s role in strengthening peace and stability in Central Asia deserves special attention. The peaceful settlement of border disputes, the reopening of previously closed borders, and the diplomatic resolution of complex issues with Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan have significantly increased mutual trust in the region.
