A delegation from Samarkand region visited Shaanxi province of the People’s Republic of China. The parties held talks on further development of cooperation in culture and tourism.

In this regard, an exhibition was held at the Silk Road Paradise amusement park in Xi'an, showcasing the tourism potential of Samarkand. During the event, guests became familiar with the region’s ancient monuments, national crafts, and gastronomic traditions.

A cultural program timed to coincide with the Navruz holiday was also presented. Folklore and ethnographic groups performed songs and dances, lapars and legends reflecting the national customs and traditions of Uzbek people.

During the event, agreements were reached on strengthening cultural ties between Samarkand and Xi'an. In particular, it is planned to organize regular cultural programs featuring Samarkand artists, as well as international festivals and competitions at the Silk Road Paradise amusement park.
