Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Economic Development, Effective Public Administration and International Cooperation Suma Chakrabarti visited the Ministry of Justice.
Cooperation in justice and law, as well as initiatives planned for implementation, were discussed at the meeting.
The Minister of Justice Akbar Tashkulov informed about the activities of creating the International Center for Digital Technologies (Enterprise Uzbekistan), operating under a special legal regime, and the International Commercial Court attached to it, bringing national legislation into line with the agreements of the World Trade Organization (WTO), as well as improving Uzbekistan’s position in international rankings and indexes in the political and legal sphere.

Suma Chakrabarti stressed that the International Center for Digital Technologies and the court being created under it must comply with international standards, and highly appreciated the reforms being carried out in this direction. He stressed that he would provide practical assistance in attracting international experts in this field.
Suma Chakrabarti also noted the complexity of the issue of WTO membership. He expressed confidence that the country will soon become a WTO member due to the systemic reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed their willingness to cooperate in the implementation of reforms in justice actively.
