World-famous Margilan silk by Nurli Tong Silk LLC

In 2020, the silk production cluster Nurli Tong Silk LLC in Margilan of Fergana region exported $3 million worth of semi-finished and finished silk products to India, China, South Korea, Vietnam and Egypt.

Over the last six months of this year, the company has sold abroad products for $1 million 200 thousand.

This year, by mutual agreement, 561 tons of cocoons were produced in Uzbekistan, Furkat, Rishtan, Kushtepa districts of Fergana region and the city of Quvasay. The enterprise has more than 1,300 hectares of mulberry plantations in five districts.

Last year, mulberry seedlings worth $700,000 were imported from China. In cooperation with farms, specific plans have been developed for the creation of new mulberry groves. The activities of modern laboratories have been established.

“The silkworm cluster grows 13,000 boxes of silkworms per season and creates 13,000 seasonal jobs. The enterprise was the first in the country to sign an agreement on the export of a large number of silk products to China, such as silk, satin, atlas and adras”, says the head of the enterprise Maqsudjon Qosimov.

Some of the products will be sent to China. The leadership of the enterprise has determined in the near future to create a strong position in the markets of China and South Korea.
