World Chess Championship kicks off in Tashkent

The World Junior Rapid and Blitz Championship has started in Tashkent.

The participants of the World Championship among schoolchildren aged 9 to 17 and the World Championship among boys and girls under 20 will compete for victory on August 2-4 in Rapid and August 6-7 in Blitz.

The main arbiter at the World Championship among boys under 20 will be an international category judge, FIDE President of 3.4 zone Khusan Khudoykulov. At the World Championship among schoolchildren, the arbiter will be an international category judge, Tomasz Delega.

About 300 chess players from Azerbaijan, Belarus, China, Spain, Hungary, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Nigeria, Slovenia, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, the UAE, and the USA will compete for victory at the World Championship.

The winners will be announced on August 7 this year.
