Workshop of National Football Associations of Central Asia and Europe

Tashkent hosts a workshop of Central Asia and Europe national football associations, conducted by FIFA.

The event with the participation of authorized national football associations of Uzbekistan, Iran, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Czech Republic, Kazakhstan, Austria, Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Portugal, Hungary, as well as specialists from FIFA, UEFA, AFC, CAFA was opened by the First Vice-President of Uzbekistan Football Association Ravshan Irmatov.

It should be noted that in Uzbekistan, to increase the mass appeal of football further, select promising and talented football players, and establish a new system of professional training, on the initiative of the Head of state Shavkat Mirziyoyev, several resolutions were adopted and accelerated work is being carried out to develop international cooperation.

In particular, in Uzbekistan, the number of national teams of various age categories has increased from 8 to 19. The number of coaches working with them has increased fivefold. Cooperation between Uzbekistan and FIFA has reached a completely new stage. As a result of these efforts, Uzbekistan won the right to host the Futsal World Cup in 2024 for the first time in history.

During the event, it is planned to discuss such issues as holding international competitions and events in futsal, women’s and children’s football at a high level, optimizing football infrastructure and financial investments, and mutual exchange of experience.
