Members of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan met with the delegation of the UN Development Programme in the Republic of Azerbaijan.

At the meeting, senators presented information on the work of relevant ministries and agencies in gender equality and the fight against gender discrimination.

During the dialogue, achievements, initiatives to protect women’s rights and interests, and the experiences of advanced countries in this direction were discussed.

The work being carried out to study foreign practices and the widespread introduction of innovative approaches, increasing the activity of women in the economic, political, and social life of the country, was discussed.

The participants also discussed the essence and significance of several laws related to this area being developed and revised by the Republic of Uzbekistan.

In turn, members of the Azerbaijani delegation highly appreciated the work in Uzbekistan to protect the rights, freedoms, and legitimate interests of women and children.

At the event, joint plans were discussed, and the need to intensify ties was emphasized.
