An award ceremony was held for the winners of the republican stage of the contest “The Greatest, The Dearest”, organized under the motto “In the Name of the Motherland, in the Name of the Nation, in the Name of the People!” in accordance with the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the preparation and celebration of the 34th anniversary of the state independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan” of July 10 this year.

The event was organized in cooperation with the Union of Journalists, the Union of Writers, the Cinematography Agency, the Republican Creative Union “Tasviriy Oyina,” the Academy of Arts, the National Media Association, the National News Agency, and the National Television and Radio Company of Uzbekistan.

The solemn ceremony was attended by journalists, poets and writers, representatives of the creative intelligentsia, and the general public.

This year, contest entries were accepted in seven categories: “Journalistic Works of Print Media Representatives”, “Materials by Television and Radio Staff”, “Internet Journalism”, “Books in the Publicistic Genre”, “Works of Fiction”, “Works of Visual Arts, Photography and Design”, and “Cinematic Works”.

At the republican stage of the contest, more than 1,900 creative works were submitted by 366 participants – journalists, writers, poets, filmmakers, artists, designers, and photographers.

The jury evaluated them on a five-point scale. Particular attention was given to such criteria as the relevance of the topic, reflection of the New Uzbekistan idea, analytical depth, artistic value of the work, and originality of presentation. In selecting the winners, emphasis was placed on critical and analytical materials.

The event concluded with performances by artists, who gave participants a festive atmosphere.
