In the Sirdaryo Regional stage of the contest for the Zulfiya state award, 67 girls participated.

The Zulfiya state award founded at the initiative of the country’s President is an important factor in identifying talented girls and in encouraging them.

Since the founding of this award, girls who won the award have achieved great successes in their areas and are working productively towards the development of the country’s science, culture, literature, art and sport spheres.

“The majority of girls who have participated in the contest are winners or runners-up of various science Olympiads, contests and sport competitions. During today’s event, presentations of their scientific research, success in education and achievements in domestic and international sport competitions kind of were made,” says D.Haydarova, the chairwoman of the Sirdaryo Regional Women’s Committee and deputy regional hokim (deputy regional governor).

The participants had their ability tested in such areas as literature, science, education, art and culture. The winners were given the right to participate in the republican stage of the contest.
