It is planned to be built in Karakalpakstan’s Karauzak district.

The Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade and the Agency for Development of Public-Private Partnership under the Ministry of Finance invite independent power producers to participate in development, financing, construction, ownership and operation of facilities for this project.

The first tender will be supported by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development within the framework of the cooperation project. It is aimed at building wind farms with a total capacity of one gigawatt.

Environmental studies are already being conducted.

All projects are part of a large-scale strategy implemented by the government of Uzbekistan and aimed at using renewable energy sources.
