Deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan are organizing meetings in their constituencies.
A meeting was held at Namangan Engineering and Construction Institute with the participation of the deputy of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis Mukhtorjon Khojimatov, activists of Uzbekistan Ecological Party, professors and students.

It was noted that at the joint meeting of the Senate and the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis on 20 May this year, a Constitutional Commission was established to develop proposals for introducing amendments and additions to the Constitution and implementing organizational measures.

“There are several questions as to why we need constitutional reform, what is its essence, how and on what principles the activities of the Constitutional Commission are organized”, deputy Mukhtorjon Khojimatov said. – We are organizing meetings in the constituencies to answer such questions, explain to the general public, to carry out outreach activities. Constitutional reforms should be reflected in the life of every citizen. To achieve this, first of all, our compatriots should be active in the socio-political life of our country, in a process that plays an important role in ensuring a sustainable future.
The large-scale reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan in all spheres, the rapid development of society are making our Basic Law relevant to today’s realities, ensuring compliance with the process of democratic renewal, and creating a solid legal basis. That is why the process of important constitutional reforms has been launched.

It was noted that the constitutional changes based on the principles “For human dignity”, “New Uzbekistan – a social state” will be a solid foundation for further improvement of the welfare of the country’s people, the transformation of sectors of the economy and accelerated development of entrepreneurship, resolutely pursue reforms aimed at ensuring the unconditional protection of human rights and interests. Detailed information was also provided on the main tasks of the Constitutional Commission, and the principles of consideration of proposals.

At the event, the participants discussed the activities of the Ecological Party in Namangan City Council, including the implementation of public control within the framework of the national project “Green Space” June 5 – World Environment Day, prevention of global environmental problems, climate change, water scarcity, systematic waste management.
