The Senate of the Oliy Majlis hosted a meeting with a delegation of the World Health Organization led by the Director of the Division of Country Health Policies and Systems at the World Health Organization, Natasha Azzopardi-Muscat.

At the meeting, cooperation between the WHO Office in Uzbekistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan was considered. 

Dr. Natasha Azzopardi-Muscat highly appreciated the reforms carried out in Uzbekistan under the leadership of the President in the healthcare system, in particular, in the field of mental health.

She emphasized the introduction of a medical insurance system in Syrdarya region and the upcoming introduction of this system in other regions of the country.

Following the meeting, the prospects for cooperation between the Senate and the World Health Organization were discussed.
