22:34 / 2023-07-09

A briefing was held at the Press Center of the Central Election Commission with the participation of the Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan H. Turakhodjayev.

As noted, an important factor in the conduction of elections is the guarantee of judicial protection of the rights of citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan to participate in elections and a fair, prompt resolution of conflicts that have arisen. The judiciary does not interfere in the electoral process.

In case of violation of the legislation on elections, the rights and interests of participants in the electoral process, that is, in the event of disputes related to elections, the court carries out judicial activities.

To ensure the uninterrupted consideration of appeals, a separate duty has been established among judges of administrative and criminal courts. A working group was created at the Supreme Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan to reliably protect the rights of citizens, timely and legal consideration of disputes and cases related to the electoral process. Its efforts are aimed at monitoring the receipt and consideration by the courts of public disputes, administrative offenses, and criminal cases related to electoral legislation.

The participants touched upon the issues of applying to the courts during the electoral process. It was noted that during this period, one appeal was received on this issue, which was considered in the prescribed manner. According to the information provided by the regions, as of 4:00 pm on July 9 this year, the country's courts received no other appeals related to the course of the Early Presidential Election.
