New Year festivities have begun in towns, villages and distant steppe villages of the Republic of Qoraqalpoghiston, north-western Uzbekistan. Grandfather Frost and Snow Maiden have come to the region, and now they are giving children presents. Holiday shows with fairy tale characters are taking place.
New Year festivities have begun in towns, villages and distant steppe villages of the Republic of Qoraqalpoghiston, north-western Uzbekistan. Grandfather Frost and Snow Maiden have come to the region, and now they are giving children presents. Holiday shows with fairy tale characters are taking place.Such a holiday event has also taken place in Eschan Bakhshi children’s school of music and art No 1 in the town of Nukus. In the “Welcome, New Year” theatrical show, students presented their holiday programme.
The holiday event began with an exhibition of works of visual and applied arts. Children presented impressive performances, including songs of various nationalities and interesting dances.
“At our school, more than 630 students study in 13 areas, including stringed musical instruments, national singing, performing arts, choreography, theatrical arts as well as visual and applied arts. On 22-24 February 2016, students of our school won a prize at the first international Garmoniya (harmony) folk music contest held in the Russian town of Perm. Our Amy Gullari (flowers of the river Amudarya) ensemble also won a decent award at the V international Narodnyye Istoki (folk origins) culture and folklore festival held in Sochi on 27-31 March,” says the school’s director, Ortiqboy Erezhepov.
Students of this school are also participating regularly and successfully in various festivals and contests being held in this country, specifically the “Kamalak Yulduzlari (rainbow stars)” children’s art festival.
