The venues for the 2025 championships were announced at the AWF Annual Congress, organized in Tashkent on the eve of the continental championships, which will provide ranking points for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

The Minister of Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan Adham Ikramov, having greeted officials of the International Weightlifting Federation and the Asian Weightlifting Federation, members of the Executive Committee, noted that holding such a prestigious tournament in Uzbekistan, which gives rating points for the Olympic Games, is a significant event in the sporting life of the country.

The President of the International Weightlifting Federation, Mohammed Jalood, admitted that preparations for the championships were carried out at the highest level. Uzbekistan is becoming the center for organizing prestigious sports competitions.

In accordance with the agenda, the organization’s activities in each area over the past year were analyzed, and the results of preparations for upcoming competitions and other sporting events were summed up.

At the meeting, some decisions regarding the competition calendar 2025 were announced. In particular, the right to host the continental championship among juniors and youth has been granted to India, and China will host the continental championship among adults.
