South Korea hosts Asian Weightlifting Championships.

Already in the first days of the championships, members of the Uzbekistan national team were awarded medals.

In the women’s competition in the 55 kg weight category, Uzbekistan’s Jamila Panfilova won two bronze medals. 

Nigora Abdullayeva, who competed in this weight category, was in ninth place.

About 250 athletes from 35 countries are participating in this championship, which provides ranking points for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Fourteen weightlifters are defending the honor of Uzbekistan.

The championships will run until May 13.
