At the meeting of the Congress of the International Weightlifting Federation in Tashkent, weight classes in weightlifting competitions for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris were determined and transferred to the International Olympic Committee.

According to the First Deputy Chairman of Uzbekistan Weightlifting Federation Shakhrulla Makhmudov, in accordance with the requirements of the International Olympic Committee, the weight classes of men’s and women’s weightlifting competitions for the 2024 Olympic Games have been determined. They are approved as 5+5.

According to the results of voting by the members of the Executive Committee, men will compete for 33 medals in the weights 61, 73, 89, 102, +102 kg, and women in 49, 59, 71, 81, +81 kg.
