On November 23, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev planted seedlings in a new park being built along the Tashkent Ring Road in Bektemir district as part of the “Green Space” nationwide project. This fall season, eighty million tree and shrub seedlings will be planted as part of the “Green Space” project. As previously reported, 138 million seedlings were planted in spring.

The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has been elected as Chairman of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan. Otabek Umarov has been elected as the First Deputy Chairman of the National Olympic Committee, Sherzod Tashmatov as Deputy Chairman, and Oybek Kasimov as Secretary General.

On November 28, an extraordinary session of the Samarkand Regional Council of People’s Deputies was held in Samarkand. Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov participated in it.

Turdimov Erkinjon Oqbutayevich was relieved of his post as Governor of Samarkand region due to his transfer to another job. Boboyev Adiz Muzafarovich, who had been serving as Chairman of the Accounts Chamber, was appointed Acting Governor of Samarkand region.

Assistant to the President of Uzbekistan Saida Mirziyoyeva informed about the state program to control oncological diseases among women, approved by the Head of state.

The program was adopted after nearly a year of discussions by a team of national and international experts, and the document is based on international clinical practices. Now, women starting at the age of thirty will need to be tested for human papillomavirus every ten years, and from the age of forty-five to sixty-five, they will need to undergo mammography every two years.

Two South Korean airlines will launch flights to Uzbekistan.

Starting from 2025, South Korean airlines Jeju Air and T’way Air will operate four weekly flights on the Incheon – Tashkent route. Currently, only South Korean Asiana Airlines has launched flights to Uzbekistan. Korean Air has suspended flights to Tashkent since March this year.

The Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan recruited a group of Turkish experts.

With the participation of Turkish experts, measures will be identified in seven areas: improving primary healthcare, introducing a health insurance system and digitizing the system, increasing the efficiency of medical services in hospitals, planning medical services, developing pharmaceuticals and providing medicines, increasing the efficiency of medical equipment, and developing emergency and urgent medical care.
