The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at the invitation of the President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, paid an official visit to this country on January 13-16. Declaration on Establishing a Strategic Partnership;
Intergovernmental Agreement on the Promotion and Protection of Investments;

Agreement on Cooperation in Standardization, Metrology, and Conformity Assessment;
Interagency Agreements on investment cooperation, collaboration in industry and advanced technologies, justice, agriculture, food security, and mineral resources;
Protocol on Cooperation in Culture and Agreement on Cooperation between Diplomatic Academies and others.

The Presidential School in Tashkent won the prestigious Sheikh Zayed Sustainability Prize Award in the Global High Schools category.
The UAE President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, presented the award. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the school representatives and congratulated them on their victory.
Students from Tashkent Presidential School took first place among participants from Europe and Central Asia and received a grant of $150 thousand.

Syrdarya regional hokim Akmaljon Mahmudaliyev has been dismissed from his post. This was announced at a meeting chaired by Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The reason for this was noted as serious shortcomings in attracting investments, developing agriculture, and other activities in the region.

Uzbekistan’s gross domestic product increased by 6.5 percent in 2024, reaching $115 billion. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced this.
Foreign investment increased by 1.6 percent, reaching $34 billion. 242 large and medium-sized projects worth $10 billion have been launched, and exports reached $27 billion for the first time.
Last year, 50 districts received more than $100 million in investment (in 2023, there were 11 such districts).

A woman gave birth to four babies at Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute. The children are two boys and two girls named Muhammad, Mustafa, Sumaya, and Safiya. They are healthy.
