Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Kuwait Bakhromjon Aloyev met with the newly elected President of the World Crafts Council AISBL Sa’ad al-Qaddumi.
The parties exchanged views on the further development of international cooperation in handicrafts, as well as the promotion of products of Uzbek craftsmen by organizing exhibitions, scientific workshops and symposiums.
Sa’ad al-Qaddumi expressed gratitude to the Government of Uzbekistan for supporting his candidacy for the post of WCC-International President. He also expressed his readiness to work closely with the World Crafts Council-Asia Pacific Region (WCC-APR), whose President is the representative of Uzbekistan – Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Adham Ikramov.
Sa’ad al-Qaddumi emphasized that Uzbekistan has become one of the centers of handicrafts in the world. In a short time, Hunarmand Association became a member of WCC-International and WCC-APR, Kokand is included in the World List of Artisan Cities. All this will contribute to the expansion of international exchanges and the development of active cooperation of Uzbekistan’s artisans with their foreign colleagues, as well as the promotion of their products in the international arena.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached for working together in organizing a permanent showroom of Uzbek artisans' products and their exhibition in Kuwait.
