The Minister of Hajj and Umrah of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, has arrived in Uzbekistan.
The two-day official visit aims to strengthen cooperation in providing services to pilgrims and to discuss improvements to the pilgrimage system.
In 2024, approximately 461,000 Uzbekistan citizens performed Umrah. This figure places Uzbekistan as the leader in Central Asia and among the top ten countries worldwide. Enhancing the Umrah pilgrimage system aligns with the goals of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 strategy, which reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to offering guests high-quality services through modern technologies and innovations.

Due to the growing demand for Hajj and Umrah, large-scale projects are being implemented to expand the territories of the two holy sites. Significant improvements have been made to the surrounding areas, infrastructure, hospitals, medical centers, and service complexes.
Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 strategy places special emphasis on enhancing conditions at pilgrimage sites. Renewable energy sources have already been integrated, artificial intelligence technologies are being used to manage large groups of pilgrims, and multilingual signboards and instructions, including in Uzbek, have been introduced.
Saudi Arabia continues to improve its service system for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.
