On June 22, Uzbekistan delegation led by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan – Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Aziz Abdukhakimov took part in a session of the EU Global Gateway Initiative in Central Asia, held as part of the European Development Days forum in Brussels.
Uzbekistan delegation made a presentation on the country’s vision of key areas of bilateral and regional cooperation with the European Union.
The European side gave a positive assessment to proposals to enhance cooperation in trade, economic, investment and innovation areas, develop new transport routes connecting Central Asia with Europe, and activate the tourism sector in the context of the gradual lifting of restrictions associated with the coronavirus pandemic.
The main attention was paid to the importance of all-around support for joint projects for the economic recovery of Afghanistan, creating the necessary conditions for overcoming the humanitarian crisis in this country, including using the capabilities of the International Transport and Logistics Hub in Termez.
