Visa-free regime for Uzbekistan citizens
17:30 / 2024-05-29

The Cabinet of Ministers of the Kingdom of Thailand has approved several new visa initiatives to attract more foreign tourists. This has been reported by the Bangkok Post.

According to the new rules, the number of countries whose citizens can enter Thailand without a visa will increase from 57 to 93. This right covers 36 new states, such as Cambodia, China, India, Jamaica, Kazakhstan, Laos, Mexico, Morocco, and Uzbekistan.

In addition, the period of stay under the visa-free regime was extended from 30 to 60 days. The government also approved the issuance of visas on arrival to 31 countries (previously, there were 19).

For those who want to combine rest and work, a five-year visa has been introduced with a stay of up to 180 days and the possibility of an extension for a similar period. Previously, the maximum stay of tourists was 60 days.

International students of higher education institutions in Thailand can now stay in the country for another year after graduation.

The government representative also noted that starting in September, the number of e-visa application points in Thailand consulates and embassies will increase from 47 to 94. All these innovations will come into force on June 1, 2024.
