Vilnius hosts Uzbekistan – Lithuania Business Forum

Businesspeople led by representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan have been visiting Vilnius, Lithuania, since May 6.

As part of the visit, the Uzbekistan – Lithuania Business Forum, the founding meeting of the Council of Entrepreneurs, and B2B meetings were held. About 70 businesspeople from the two countries working in agriculture, poultry farming, construction, the textile industry, and logistics participated in the event.

As of 2023, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Lithuania reached $606.2 million. Exports – $133.2 million, imports – $472.8 million. There are 30 enterprises in Uzbekistan with the participation of investors from this country. 12 of them operate based on 100 percent Lithuanian capital, 18 are joint ventures.

According to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the event was moderated by the President of the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists, Vidmantas Janulevičius, and the Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, Dilshod Rasulov. The partners agreed to create a Council of Entrepreneurs and held the founding meeting of the council.

The forum provided a platform for the parties to explore the existing investment potential and wide opportunities for the development of trade and economic relations. The fruitful discussions led to several agreements aimed at fostering cooperation between business community representatives, setting a positive trajectory for the future of Uzbekistan – Lithuania trade relations.
