Sericulture is one of the most profitable branches of agriculture.
At the meeting, the President noted the development of the agricultural sector as one of the priority tasks and set the task of studying advanced foreign experience, including Vietnam’s achievements, and attracting investors to the industry.

For this purpose, industry specialists and entrepreneurs, led by the Deputy Hokim of Tashkent region, Botir Alimbekov, and Zukhra Mirgaziyeva, are visiting Vietnam. Negotiations are underway with representatives of companies in this country that are involved in sericulture. Vietnamese farmers harvest crops up to four times a year. In the provinces of Bac Ninh, Hanoi, Hung Yen, and Lam Dong, the delegation gets acquainted with preparing silkworm cocoons, processing fiber at home, weaving yarn, and producing silk fabric and silk carpets.

In Tashkent region, 90 thousand women will be employed in this field. Seven million mulberry seedlings will be planted along farms and agricultural enterprises. Measures are being taken to develop the food supply of the silkworm.
