A delegation led by the Vice Premier of the People’s Republic of China Liu Guozhong visited Uzbekistan.

The guests and Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Jamshid Kuchkarov met with Hokim Akmaljon Makhmudaliyev in Syrdarya region. They visited cotton fields and an intensive garden laid out based on Chinese experience by the Uzbekistan – China joint venture Peng Sheng. In Saykhunabad district, they became familiarized with the activities of increasing people’s income through the effective use of household and housekeeping facilities, and talked with residents.

At the meeting, it was noted that cooperation between Uzbekistan and China is being strengthened thanks to the political will and initiatives of the heads of the two states. In recent years, more than 70 projects involving investments by Chinese companies have been implemented in Syrdarya region. The foreign trade turnover with China in 2023 amounted to $336.1 million.

The parties expressed hope for further enhancing and strengthening collaboration between Syrdarya region and several provinces of China.
